International Experience Student Ambassador
The International Experience Student Ambassador will act as an ambassador for the University - welcoming new international students to the City, guiding them from Manchester Airport, talking and giving information to newly arrived students.
Responsibilities
• Talk with new international students about your experience of being a student at Sheffield Hallam University, answering basic questions about accommodation, courses, budgeting, making new friends, social aspects etc.
• Lead the International Experience Team's airport pick up service, meeting new students at the airport and bringing them back to Sheffield by private coach.
• Show groups of students around the University campuses (following a structured route), talking about areas of interest e.g. Learning Centre, Club Hallam, The Students' Union, lecture theatres and student support areas and occasionally leading walks to places in the City such as the Cathedral, Weston Park Museum and Sheffield Library.
• Help to facilitate the International Orientation event including meeting guest speakers on arrival and distributing handouts.
• Adhoc office work including taking telephone enquiries, laminating and photocopying.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a selection/training event from 9.30am-1pm on Wednesday 5 June 2024.
